So, what is GPS Tracking all about?
GPS Satellites are a group of satellites orbitting the Earth – at any one time at least 4 of these satellites are visible to the GPS device, but usually more than that.
By recording the data received from the numerous GPS satellites, the GPS tracker is able to determine it’s exact location on earth in 3 dimensions – to within just a few metres accuracy.
By fitting a GPS tracker to your vehicle (car, motorcycle, caravan etc) you can be aware of where your vehicle is at any time, including road, direction of travel and speed. This data is transmitted and made available via the AussieGPS website. Data is updated every 15 – 30 seconds, 24 hours a day.
Alerts
Email alerts can be sent for numerous event types, such as;
- Overspeed warning
- Entering or leaving a geofenced area

What are the benefits of a GPS Tracker?
There are several benefits to having in-vehicle tracking;
- Monitor the location of your vehicle if it gets stolen
- Many insurance companies offer lower premiums if a GPS tracker is installed
- Piece of mind if the vehicle is borrowed by new drivers (see Overspeed warning alert above)
- Locate your vehicle at Shopping Centres during Christmas shopping
